The UK Foreign Office is aiding the family of Graeme and Elaine Winn, a couple killed in a cable car crash in Naples, alongside two others. The crash occurred when a traction cable snapped while the car was ascending Monte Faito. An investigation into potential manslaughter charges is underway. Witnesses, including British tourist Megan Pacey, recounted the terrifying moments during the evacuation of stranded passengers. The cable car had recently opened for the summer season and had undergone maintenance just days prior to the tragedy.
Megan Pacey, a British tourist, described witnessing the evacuation of a cable car that was left suspended after the accident, stating, 'We were within a minute or two of [the incident] happening.'
The UK Foreign Office confirmed their support for the families of the British couple, stating they are in touch with local authorities regarding the tragic incident.
