Fire brigade 'reacted too late' after blaze spread to homes
Briefly

Mohammed Nur, a resident near a St John's Wood electrical substation that caught fire early in the morning, expressed frustration over the delayed response from emergency services. He and his family were not evacuated until two hours after he first noticed the blaze. Nur criticized the lack of immediate action, such as the absence of firefighting foam and the delayed deployment of a crane. The incident caused damage to nearby flats and raised concerns about safety measures for residents in the area.
Mr Nur claimed fire crews did not put up a crane until 7am and that no foam or water had been used to douse the flames.
If the fire started at 5am and there is no water, why not put foam? If they had put the crane up and put the water on time the houses would be saved.
I wake up and see the situation with my family and children. Why a flammable thing behind where residents live? If life goes, they can't give life back.
Emergency services reacted too late, according to Mohammed Nur, who felt fearful for his family's safety during the substation fire.
