Ex-Premier League referee David Coote avoids prison after indecent video of schoolboy found on laptop
"I am satisfied that this is a case where there should be a sexual harm prevention order. It is plain that such an order is necessary and proportionate in the circumstances. It will restrict your liberty - it is intended to."
"contact and communication with children"
"spectacular fall from grace"
David Coote, 43, pleaded guilty to making an indecent moving image of a child of the most serious kind. A two-minute, 11-second video found on his Dell laptop showed the boy undress until he was completely naked before performing sexual acts on himself. Coote was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for two years. A 10-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed restricting contact and communication with children and specifying where he is allowed to reside. Coote's arms and hands trembled as sentence was passed at Nottingham Crown Court. He was described as having had a 'spectacular fall from grace'.
