An Erith mother faced legal action after a French Bulldog she was caring for bit her seven-year-old son in the face while he attempted to kiss it. The incident resulted in the child being hospitalized and requiring stitches. In court, the mother expressed her desire to make her children happy by looking after the dog, but she had no prior dog experience. The court fined her and imposed a ten-year ban on owning dogs after the attack.
The child was rushed to the hospital and required stitches for a large cut to his face after being bitten by a dog the mother was caring for.
The mother, who has not been named to protect her son's identity, was prosecuted and banned from dog ownership for 10 years following the incident.
Prosecutor Shelina Khudurun noted that the child was bitten when he attempted to kiss the French Bulldog the mother was watching for a friend.
The District Judge fined the mother £250, ordered her to pay over £500 in kennel fees, and placed a dog ownership ban until 2035.
