A fire broke out in a house shortly before 1pm, quickly spreading as two men saw the flames and rushed inside to rescue a woman. She was unharmed but was taken to University Hospital Kerry for precautionary reasons. Local Councillor Michael Leane expressed gratitude for the men's brave actions, noting the potential for a much worse outcome had they not intervened. The incident drew attention to the importance of immediate action in emergencies and the supportive role of community members in crisis situations.
The fire ripped through the house in a matter of minutes as Kerry Fire Service attended the scene. The house is situated at the top of the village close to the Castle Arms.
Thanks to the two young men, this story could have been an awful lot worse. The men saw the house on fire and went to the door where they took the woman out straightaway.
