Juliana Quintero Velasco was recorded on CCTV taking cash from a casino till and covering the money with paperwork before leaving the office wearing a black jacket. Metropolitan Police received intelligence that she planned to leave the county and arrested her at her home in Anne Street, Plaistow, on June 14, less than 24 hours after the theft. Velasco pleaded guilty at Thames Magistrates' Court on June 30 to theft by employee. She was sentenced to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay 1,200 in compensation. Genting, formerly Aspers, operates the east London venue with the UK's largest casino floor and multiple gaming facilities. The Gambling Commission still lists Velasco with an active licence until May 2030.
