A police helicopter flying over Liverpool was targeted by a green laser on July 18. The National Police Air Service (NPAS) aircraft, while en route to an incident, reported being affected by the laser from an address in West Derby. In response, the NPAS helicopter returned to the area and identified the source. Two teenagers aged 16 and 13 were subsequently arrested for shining a laser beam into the aircraft. Captain Paul Watts of NPAS highlighted the recklessness of distracting pilots and stated that such actions are serious offenses.
