Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday will present many discounted holiday deals and increased booking activity. The UK Civil Aviation Authority reported that holiday fraud cost consumers more than £11 million in 2024. Londoners lost the most, nearly £2.5 million, with the West Midlands at £546,000, Greater Manchester £508,000 and Hampshire £482,000. The CAA advises checking that trips have ATOL protection before paying. Companies selling air package holidays in the UK must hold an ATOL licence to protect customers if a business ceases trading. Using a credit card can provide Section 75 protection, and travel insurance offers additional safeguards.
