The collision occurred at about 18:10 GMT on Wednesday on Folly Lane in Chingford. A 46-year-old e-bike rider died at the scene. The driver of the horse and cart, aged 25, was arrested and remains in police custody on suspicion of wanton and furious driving. Specialist officers are supporting the victim's family. The Metropolitan Police said detectives from the serious collisions investigation unit are leading the inquiry. Detective Sergeant Faye Cook described the incident as tragic and confirmed an arrest and an ongoing investigation. Officers asked anyone with information, CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact them.
