Judges in Argentina have dismissed involuntary manslaughter charges against hotel employees and a friend of the late pop star Liam Payne, following an appeal. The charges stemmed from the singer's tragic death last year, attributed to multiple traumas from a fall. The court found insufficient evidence regarding the accused's responsibility for Payneâs intoxication and concluded that the friend had made necessary arrangements for emergencies. This decision follows an investigation revealing that Payne had alcohol, cocaine, and medication in his system at the time of his death.
The appeals court judges ruled that Nores did not have a role in Payne's âobtaining and consuming alcoholâ and that he could not have taken actions to prevent Payne's death.
In Wednesdayâs ruling, judges said Nores âmade himself present on several occasionsâ at the hotel and âmade arrangementsâ with staff âon how to contact him in case of emergencies.â
