Sergeant Mark O'Sullivan provided evidence of the arrest and charge at Castleisland Garda Station at 3:06pm. The defendant made no reply when charged. Judge David Waters ruled that bail was not applicable for murder charges and must be sought from the High Court instead. The defendant was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear via video link on March 4 for the book of evidence hearing. The case will proceed to trial at the Central Criminal Court.
