Mona Shah and Joe Samagond had a two-week trip to Japan, combining active sightseeing with serene experiences. They appreciated the growing number of vegan-friendly options available. Their itinerary included a day trip to Kawagoe, known for its historic Edo period atmosphere, and a visit to the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo. They traveled on the Shinkansen, viewing Mount Fuji, and enjoyed food highlights such as vegan sushi and ramen. They also visited the historic Shitenno-ji temple in Osaka and saw the Todai-ji Temple in Nara.
Mona Shah and Joe Samagond had a lovely, two-week trip to Japan, where they combined active sightseeing with slower moments of serenity.
In Tokyo, we took a fantastic day trip to Kawagoe, a less popular but incredibly charming town that felt like time had stood still.
We hopped on the early-morning Shinkansen, Japan's incredible bullet train, and caught a clear glimpse of Mount Fuji at exactly 44 minutes into our journey.
In Osaka, we absolutely loved Shitenno-ji, one of Japan's earliest temples and the first ever built by the state.
