We've traveled with our kids since they were 6 weeks old. Now, they're confident, independent adults ready for anything.
"Over the years, our kids have visited 20 states and five countries, from Massachusetts to Mexico. Traveling has helped foster their resilience, confidence, and independence as they've grown up. Before having kids, my husband and I were avid travelers, and we knew we didn't want to stop after our son was born. From Rhode Island to Mexico, we believed in the motto, "Have kids, will travel." The same was true after the arrival of our daughter."
"Our first cross-country flight with our son was to visit family in Boston when he was six weeks old. He slept the whole time, which made up for the trips to come. When he was a year old, we struggled through turbulence and motion sickness as a family while on a warm plane ride to visit family in North Carolina."
The family chose to continue traveling after having children and prioritized showing the kids as much of the country and world as possible while accommodating school schedules. The children visited 20 states and five countries, experiencing artwork, architecture, historical artifacts, and monuments. Early trips included a six-week-old sleeping through a flight, turbulence and motion sickness at age one, and teething-related crying at age two, which taught the need for preparation. Repeated delays, missed connections, and airport dashes reinforced lessons in patience. Travel helped foster resilience, confidence, independence, and a broader cultural perspective.
