""We want OAK to become a meaningful experience for all of our visitors, not just a curbside drive-by experience," Kristi McKenney, Port of Oakland executive director, said in a statement. "The OAK Guest Pass allows families to spend more precious time with their loved ones as they see them off on their next adventure or welcome them home from one." Guest passes must be reviewed and approved by the Transportation Security Administration to receive a visitor security clearance."
"The guest pass can be applied for online the day of or up to seven days in advance of visiting OAK. The application allows the visitor to choose the day and time they wish to enter the airport. Visitors filling out the online application must provide their date of birth, gender and full legal name exactly as it appears on their TSA-approved photo ID A complete list of identification accepted by TSA can be found online."
Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport launched the OAK Guest Pass Program to allow approved non-travelers through security to access terminal amenities. The first-come, first-served program permits visitors without boarding passes to enter after passing all security screenings. Applicants can apply online the day of or up to seven days in advance and must select a day and time slot. The application requires date of birth, gender, and full legal name matching a TSA-approved photo ID. TSA reviews and approves guest-pass requests. The program aims to enable family time, boost visitor experience, and increase airport spending while coinciding with new local concessions.
