TSA warns PreCheck flyers about sneaky enrollment scam
Briefly

"There was a very convincing top ad on Google that scammed out of $150," a traveler wrote on Reddit. "... I called my credit card company, but I don't know how to dispute it as I did pay it."
Lorie Dankers, a TSA spokesperson, highlighted that the problem begins early in the process, when travelers inadvertently navigate to misleading websites disguised as TSA enrollment sites that promise to streamline the application process.
Dankers emphasized that to avoid these scams, the first step is to ensure applicants start at a website with '.gov' in the URL, as only this can guarantee that they are on the official TSA site.
Travelers often fall into the trap of using non-sanctioned third-party companies that charge fees, while the TSA itself does not charge for booking appointments through its accredited providers.
