"There are several different techniques travellers use to cut costs, from vouchers to selecting off-peak travel times. But one travel expert has revealed the really simple trick he uses to book cheap flights for his holidays. Vibra Media boss Richard Edwards told Hello! exactly what he does to bag more affordable travel. He explained that many holidaymakers search for their flights 'the exact same way' each time."
"To find the holiday deals, the travel expert uses Google's Explore feature to search for flights. He explained: 'Open Google Flights, enter your departure city, but leave the destination completely blank. Then click on the map view. Suddenly, you can see flight prices to dozens of cities across Europe, all displayed visually.' The helpful tool shows several destination options at varying prices and is useful for seeing the cost of nearby places."
Many travellers search for flights the same way each time, allowing dynamic pricing algorithms to adjust fares upward. Airline and site systems can track search patterns and may increase prices when interest in a route surges. Leaving the destination blank in Google Flights' Explore map reveals fares to dozens of cities at once, enabling side-by-side price comparisons and discovery of nearby, lower-cost destinations. The Explore map also supports price alerts for selected routes so travellers can buy when fares drop. Seeing the full set of available fares rather than repeating identical searches can reveal significant savings on flights.
