This Once-sleepy Small Town in Virginia's Wine Country Is One of the South's Coolest New Getaways
"A stay at Hotel Burg is an invitation to experience what we call 'the style of a life well lived,'"
"Much of what you see and feel throughout the hotel is inspired by our own travels-interpretations of the hotels, homes, food, and music that have inspired us over the years-reimagined through the lens of Virginia's wine and hunt country. The result is an immersive experience that feels unlike anything else in the region, while still deeply rooted in Loudoun County's heritage and natural beauty."
Leesburg, an hour from Washington, D.C., is experiencing renewed energy centered on Hotel Burg, a boutique property that opened in August 2025. The hotel sits in Virginia's horse and wine country and blends richly layered interiors—deep-hued walls, velvet, flannel, leather, antiques, lithographs, and sporting prints—that reference equestrian heritage. Kevin and Remington Ash of Madison Dale developed the property to celebrate Leesburg's historical character and foster community. The project preserved an 1885 home and expanded it to 39 guest rooms in collaboration with local design firm wldwst and architect Michael Graves, encouraging visitors to stay longer.
