This National Park Is Home to the Largest Mountain in North America-and It's Taller Than Mount Everest
"Denali is all about taking in a landscape that still feels truly wild. It's the kind of place where you pack extra layers, check the sky, and head out not knowing exactly what the day will bring."
"You feel like you have the place all to yourself-this is a rare experience in U.S. national parks. Alaska's interior is famously not very well-connected to the rest of the world, and the crowds here are never overwhelming."
Denali National Park and Reserve covers six million acres of mountains, tundra, and boreal forests in Alaska's interior, home to Mount Denali (McKinley), North America's tallest peak with an 18,000-foot vertical rise. The park offers exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities including grizzly bears, caribou, golden eagles, and bald eagles. Its primary appeal lies in its remoteness and wild landscape, providing a rare uncrowded national park experience. The park operates year-round but most facilities, lodges, and shuttles run seasonally from late May through mid-September. Entrance fees are $15 per person for a seven-day pass or $45 for an annual pass, with cash not accepted.
