Irish tourism is on a positive trajectory, according to Alva Pearson Downey, CEO of the Inbound Tourism Operators Association (ITOA). The ITOA has confirmed that their members collectively welcome around 700,000 international visitors each year, generating significant economic impact with a total spending of €640 million. This suggests a healthy outlook for the tourism sector, as bookings remain stable and show promise for the coming season.
"If anyone asks, Irish tourism is doing very well, thank you very much," Alva Pearson Downey, CEO of the Inbound Tourism Operators Association (ITOA), said at the end of May.
The association's members bring around 700,000 overseas visitors to Ireland - with a €640m spend - each year.
