"It's literally Christmas in a cookie," Tiffany Calderon told SFGATE by phone. She and her family travel to Disneyland from their home near Placerville three times a year, but on their holiday visit, she has a special mission: She takes home 20 of the Mickey gingerbreads to freeze and eat throughout the year. "It feels like home," she said. "Just cuddling up on a couch, watching some Christmas movies, getting a gingerbread cookie out and just - small bites, make it last. Make it linger."
The cookies are so popular that Disneyland limits their sale: A guest can only mobile-order five per transaction. Still, fans determined to gather as many as possible will place multiple mobile orders, sometimes at different locations. The park will often remove the gingerbread from mobile order menus and sell it only over the counter, to prevent it from selling out.
