I slept in one of Northern California's most haunted hotels
Briefly

Cary House Hotel in Placerville, established during the peak of the Gold Rush in 1857, stands as one of California's oldest hotels. Originally a gold exchange and gambling hall, it has hosted notable figures, including presidents and movie stars. During renovations, enough gold dust was found in the floors to fund a fourth story. Beyond its historical significance, the hotel is also famous for its ghostly tales, making it a prime location for paranormal investigations, particularly noted by teams like the California Haunts Paranormal Investigation Team.
Hangtown was the magnet that drew thousands upon thousands of persons to the west, and El Dorado county changed the map of the world.
