Death of SFO's travelator means a new hack for United flyers
Briefly

We wanted to create something that went above the basic construction conditions... something that’s uniquely San Francisco in this space at the airport.
Each walkway is divvied up by vivid colors... to help keep movement appealing. Artwork and short paragraphs about San Francisco inform visitors about... popular neighborhoods.
The result is two transitional sections that add some razzle dazzle to an otherwise uneventful experience: moving from one place to another at the airport.
Dotted along the walls are a flock of San Francisco's beloved parrots - 'the unofficial mascot,' Yakel said - to usher people along.
