A moment that changed me: An accident left me terrified of risk. Then I joined a stranger on a motorbike adventure
Briefly

In March 2017, a journey began on a motorbike in Thakhek, Laos, despite past traumatic experiences with biking. A newly formed friendship with Travis, an American classmate from a Rotary International Peace Fellowship, prompted the trip. Although initially cautious due to a severe accident in Cambodia back in 2004, the desire to discover Laos and its less-traveled paths influenced the decision. The appeal of adventure and exploration overshadowed past fears, marking a significant turning point in approaching experiences beyond comfort zones.
Traveling by motorbike, which I had actively avoided for years, became a way to explore the uncharted Laos alongside a newfound friend, Travis.
The traumatic experience from a past motorbike accident left me cautious, yet the opportunity to see Laos away from the usual tourist path was compelling.
