Jobs boost on cards as Cavan engineering firm unveils expansion plans
M-Tec Engineering Ltd in Swanlinbar plans a major expansion of its headquarters in Cavan. The company designs and manufactures bespoke trailers, including single-axle and 14 ft livestock-equivalent models. Beyond agricultural trailers, it produces high-quality trailers for construction, landscaping, and domestic use. The Malanaphy family-run firm seeks an “industrial extension” to its existing steel manufacturing and assembly facility, which received retention planning approval in May 2022. Established in 2020, M-Tec exports its full range to the UK and Australia and plans further European market entry by late 2024. The firm was named overall Cavan Business of the Year in 2023 and expects a final decision on the plans by July 14.
