An Uber drove away with her kid. Then Uber wouldn't connect her or police with the driver | CBC News
Briefly

During a troubling incident in Toronto, a mother named Julia experienced her worst nightmare when her five-year-old daughter was inadvertently left behind in an Uber ride. After attending a Toronto Raptors game, the family took an Uber home, but during a chaotic situation involving unloading three other children, the driver left with Julia's daughter still asleep in the back seat. Julia attempted to contact Uber for assistance but received little help, prompting her to call the police who eventually managed to track down the driver. Julia expressed her frustration over Uber's lack of urgency to resolve such a serious matter.
I'm returning to the road and I realized the car, it's gone... The three kids are already in hysterics. 'Why did he leave with her? Where did he go?' I'm trying to keep it together for my son.
This was 'no time for bureaucratic red tape,' Julia said. 'This was not a purse or a phone left behind. It was a five-year-old child on a winter night.'
