St. John's lands Stanford's Oziyah Sellers from transfer portal
Briefly

St. John's basketball team made a significant addition by securing Stanford transfer Oziyah Sellers. Sellers, who averaged 13.7 points and shot 40% from three-point range last season, chose to join under coach Rick Pitino, citing his desire to win a national championship as a major motivating factor. This commitment comes after a recruiting weekend where Sellers was one of several recruits visiting the campus. His signing, along with other transfers, aims to specifically address St. John's struggles with outside shooting from the prior season.
In any conversation, coach Pitino is pretty much the greatest coach of all-time - I wanted to play for him. I want to win a national championship.
Playing for him was a big part of this decision. And then hearing his plan for me? I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of.
We are super excited to have Oziyah in our program. Not only does he bring great experience and tremendous outside shooting, but his workout on his visit was incredible.
Oziyah has terrific size and an unbelievable attitude. He's a great addition for Johnnies Basketball this season.
