The St. John's basketball program has announced the commitment of Austrian freshman Imran Suljanovic, marking its first addition for the upcoming season. Suljanovic, who plays for the Reggio Emilia club in Italy, has been impressive this season, averaging 20.3 points per game. His scoring ability and skills caught the attention of head coach Rick Pitino, who traveled to Italy to personally evaluate him. This signing continues St. John's trend of international recruitment, following the acquisition of players from Portugal and Greece. Pitino cites the maturity of young international players as a key factor in his recruitment approach.
