In a statement, Popovich conveyed gratitude for the overwhelming community support received during his recovery journey, highlighting the challenges faced over the past weeks. Mitch Johnson filled in as interim head coach during Popovich's absence.
Popovich stated, "This has certainly been an unexpected six weeks for my family and me... the outpouring of support has been truly overwhelming in the best possible way."
After fainting in the steakhouse, Popovich was alert and talking once he reached the ambulance, with reports indicating a non-life-threatening condition.
