Former St. John's coach and longtime KU assistant Norm Roberts retires from college basketball
Briefly

Norm Roberts announced his retirement after nearly 40 years in coaching, famously serving as an assistant coach at Kansas during a highly successful period that included a national championship in 2022. With a career that included leadership roles at St. John's and a long-standing relationship with head coach Bill Self, Roberts expressed gratitude for his time in coaching. He aims to spend more time with family following a career marked by significant achievements but noted occasional challenges during stints, including acting as Kansas' head coach during Self's health issues.
Roberts has played a key role to our success at all of the stops we've had together, especially here at Kansas.
I've been fortunate that I've never worked a day in my life. Being able to coach at Kansas and be part of this program has been unbelievable.
This is a bittersweet moment for me because Norm and I have been together since 1995.
Norm has been instrumental in what we have achieved.
