Maple Leafs should be growing concerned about Joseph Woll
""I think it was a bit of up and down. I felt like I had some stretches where I was feeling good about my game, and some stretches where things weren't necessarily going my way. At the end of the day, I felt, if I look at the season as a whole, I feel like maybe I've had some stuff left on the table." Woll said at the Maple Leafs' end-of-season media availability."
Joseph Woll has appeared in two games for Team USA and has not met expectations. In the USA’s gold medal rematch against Switzerland, he stopped 17 of 20 shots but the team lost 3-1. He did not start in a 5-1 win over Great Britain, and he was given another chance versus Finland. Against Finland, he allowed five goals on ten shots and was pulled in the second period, with Devin Cooley replacing him as the USA lost 6-2. Woll took responsibility for his performance, describing inconsistent stretches and feeling he left things on the table. His form is trending negatively, and coach Don Granato may reduce his minutes moving forward.
