Head coach Craig Berube opted to give the team an off-day to rest amidst a busy travel schedule. Instead of practice, the players engaged in stretching and will have a morning skate before their next game. Berube believes this break is crucial for maintaining player well-being and morale, especially following a competitive game. He also enjoys the opportunity to reflect and discuss strategies with coaches during these breaks, emphasizing the need for both downtime and focus on continual improvement.
Berube stated, "With travel and getting here late, we just had a team stretch today. We thought it was best if we stayed off the ice, stretch, and then have a morning skate tomorrow."
Regarding the players' well-being, Berube emphasized, "Sometimes, they need a break from seeing video and that kind of thing. You get a chance to get away for a little bit here. It is a lot of hockey, and it is a lot of travel."
