The TTC says it will increase service as students prepare to head back to school and more people return to in-office work after Labour Day. Starting Tuesday, the transit agency will increase service to 32 bus routes and make route adjustments for students boarding at locations surrounding schools, the TTC said in a news release issued Thursday. The transit agency is planning further service enhancements this fall to ensure the system is safe and reliable, TTC CEO Mandeep Lali said in a statement.
"We're continuously analyzing customer travel patterns and system performance to ensure our service aligns with where and when it's needed most," Lali said. Service on an additional 35 bus routes will also be adjusted to improve service reliability and match projected ridership demand, the transit agency said, and overnight bus service on the 325 Don Mills and 385 Sheppard East routes will be extended to provide more transit options for customers between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. daily.
The Lawrence Station bus terminal will also reopen on Sunday, with regular service resuming on the 52 Lawrence West, 124 Sunnybrook, 162 Lawrence-Donway and 952 Lawrence West Express routes, the TTC said. The TTC said the following routes will have service adjusted to make it easier for customers to travel to and from secondary and post-secondary institutions, including the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus and Centennial College Progress Campus:
