Newhouse emphasized the troubling behavior of Thompson, stating that he encouraged heavy drinking among the women and proceeded to touch one without consent and assaulted the other while she was incapacitated.
During the prosecution's opening remarks, it was outlined that Thompson's actions at a so-called networking event at the cottage culminated in serious allegations of sexual assault against two women.
The trial recounts a party atmosphere that turned dangerous, with one complainant managing to communicate her non-consent multiple times, highlighting a disturbing pattern of coercive sexual behavior by Thompson.
