"Everyone gets together in these kinds of situations because everyone can feel your pain as a small business," said Jonathan Larrad, owner of the Spanish Pig. He added that it's disheartening, noting that break-ins leave business owners feeling vulnerable.
Larrad described the break-in at his shop: "The thieves smashed the front glass door, made their way to the cash register, got about $150 to $200 in cash and took the entire point of sale system." He expressed frustration that potential customers are deterred by a boarded-up business after a break-in.
