As Saturday Night Live celebrates its 50th anniversary, it's notable that many Canadians have been integral to its success. Lorne Michaels, SNL's Canadian-born creator, initially pitched a similar show to CBC, but went on to develop SNL for NBC. Since its debut in 1975, SNL has featured and hosted numerous Canadian talents such as Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, and Pamela Anderson, who fondly recalled her hosting experience as a highlight of her career. The show's blend of oddball comedy and political satire has solidified its place in pop culture history.
