Red shirts came through for Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care last month, as one Scarborough institution helped another.Corrections officers at the Toronto East Detention Centre have worn red T-shirts under their uniforms on Fridays for about 15 years as a sign of respect for Canada's military.For the first time, Toronto East officers sold shirts to raise money and turned that into their most successful effort ever for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union's annual Corrections Cares campaign, Jason Mushynski, president of OPSEU Local 582 says.
