Province expects revamped Ontario Place to draw 6M annual visitors. Experts aren't so optimistic | CBC News
Briefly

"Ontario Place is politically a hot button - a more rosy projection probably is helping in that respect," said Wayne Smith, director of the Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Research at Toronto Metropolitan University. He emphasized the remarkable expectations for visitor numbers, illustrating the challenge of achieving this ambitious target. He noted, "when you take a look at that and we did the numbers, six million guests a year would be almost 16,500 people a day. That's a lot of people."
Michael Lindsay, CEO of Infrastructure Ontario, noted that the six million visitor estimate was made in consultation with subject-matter experts. He stated, "whatever the number turns out to be, it will be much higher than the amount of visitors the site has seen for the last decade," pointing to the significant potential for increased tourism at the revitalized Ontario Place.
