"The trial for two women accused of murdering a boy and assaulting his younger brother, both of whom they were planning to adopt, resumes around 10 a.m. ET. "They included locking the boys, L.L and J.L., in their rooms for up to 18 hours at a time, with one break, and zip-tying them into wetsuits. L.L. was 12 when he died in December 2022, severely malnourished and underweight. J.L. testified earlier in the judge-only trial before Justice Clayton Conlan. Both women have pleaded not guilty. Becky Hamber and Brandy Cooney face first-degree murder charges in Ontario after a 12-year-old foster boy, L.L., died in December 2022.
