The threats were reported to police in late June, leading to enhanced security measures for Brown and his family during the investigation. Kanwarjyot Singh Manoria from Brampton was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. Mayor Brown expressed gratitude to law enforcement for the arrest and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the community, stating that threats will not deter him. Police confirmed the accused acted alone and is not a continuing threat.
As a precaution, enhanced security measures were provided to ensure their safety while the matter was investigated.
Violence and threats of violence have no place in a democracy.
