"A 40-year-old man is dead days after his vehicle struck the rear of a backhoe tractor in North York Friday, police say. Officers responded to a call for a personal injury collision around 2:44 a.m. Friday, Toronto police said in a news release Tuesday. Police said a Mitsubishi RVR travelling northbound on Weston Road, towards Fenmar Drive, had hit the rear of a tractor."
"The driver of the Mitsubishi had been travelling at a high rate of speed, the release said, and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man was pronounced dead on Monday. The operator of the backhoe tractor, a 46-year-old man who was also travelling northbound, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers."
