Looking for a bumpy ride? Hamilton home to the 2 worst roads in Ontario, says CAA | CBC News
Briefly

Hamilton's Aberdeen Avenue has been declared the worst road in Ontario for the fourth consecutive year, according to a Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) report. Frustrations from residents about potholes and inadequate maintenance have contributed to this designation. Barton Street E. followed closely in the rankings. Despite these ongoing challenges, city officials acknowledge public concerns and underline their commitment to infrastructure improvements, noting significant investments toward road maintenance and repairs in 2025. CAA representatives recognize these efforts but emphasize the need for continued attention to road conditions.
"We recognize the importance of the report and we understand that it's really a reflection of public concern. It's something that we take very seriously," Ryall told CBC Hamilton.
"Frustrations with potholes and poor road maintenance have kept this road in the number one spot."
"Hamilton invested $190 million in the transportation network in 2025, including a $5 million increase in the city's resurfacing fund, which is used to patch up areas that are harder to maintain."
"We know that the city of Hamilton is aware of this and they've continued to invest in infrastructure."
