"Chris Tanev is going to miss some time, significant time."
"Groin. They're looking at things going forward here, so I'm not going to speculate on what they're going to exactly do, but he's going to be out a while."
"He had a good day today. Tomorrow, see how it feels in the morning. He'll probably go on the ice and and we'll go from there."
Chris Tanev is out indefinitely with a groin injury and will miss significant time. Tanev previously missed 23 games after sustaining an upper-body injury on November 1 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Brandon Carlo is recovering from foot surgery on December 3, is skating with the team, and appears to be progressing well. Auston Matthews skated at optional practice after being ruled out prior to warmups with a lower-body injury and will be evaluated by how he feels in the morning. William Nylander's status will be determined based on the morning skate. Anthony Stolarz skated but remains out indefinitely with no timeline after an upper-body injury on November 11; he was scheduled to see a specialist, and Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby are splitting starts, with Woll serving as the primary goaltender.
