Joseph Woll thanks Leafs teammates for respecting his privacy upon returning from absence
"I want to make sure I say, namely to the Leafs organization and starting with Brad (Treliving) and working all the way down for all the support they've given me and my family for the last bit. I've really been blown away at how much support I've received and with that, a big thank you to my teammates as well and I've expressed that to them, just for all the support they've given."
"And lastly, I want to thank you guys. I know I asked for privacy and you guys (Leafs media) have granted me that, so I really appreciate that as well. As we move forward now, I've kind of decided that all I'm going to say about my time away is that I'm disappointed to have missed time and I'm very happy to be back."
"I think pace is something that I've found that is important to get up, you know, especially if you're coming off an offseason," Woll said. "So pace is a big one then. I just think also there's an eagerness to get back out there and had enough idle time and sitting around and don't want to be practicing too long and stuff like that. I just want to get out and get going."
Joseph Woll thanked the Leafs organization and general manager Brad Treliving for support during his personal leave of absence. He expressed gratitude to teammates for their support and appreciation to media for granting privacy. He described disappointment at missing time and emphasized happiness to be back with the team. He requested that focus remain on his job and not create distractions for himself or the team, and said he will initiate conversation later if he chooses. He emphasized the need for pace and eagerness when returning after the offseason. Anthony Stolarz is projected to start Saturday.
