Game #82 GameThread: Jays @ Red Sox
Briefly

The Blue Jays are making roster moves to enhance player development, opting to send Alan Roden to get more consistent playtime, which he couldn't secure at the major league level. In contrast, Will Wagner is being brought in due to his more straightforward, contact-focused batting style, which suits a part-time role better. Wagner is expected to handle multiple positions including third base, first base, and occasionally second base. However, the decision to utilize Clement, known for his excellent defensive skills, at first base is met with criticism.
Much what I thought: Blue Jays want Alan Roden getting more regular playing time and didn't have it in the majors, hence him being optioned for Will Wagner today.
Wagner's simpler, contact-oriented swing plays better in a part-time role. Wagner will play mostly third and first, some second.
I still hate wasting Clement's great glove at first base, but that's what they are going to do, so ignore it.
