Ferry service to Ward's Island not running but expected to resume soon, city says | CBC News
Briefly

The ferry service to Ward's Island has been suspended since Sunday due to ice in Toronto Harbour. The city indicated that operations would restart once the ice is sufficiently cleared. In the interim, residents can take a bus service from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to reach the Toronto Islands. Russell Baker, a city spokesperson, noted that the Toronto Fire Services has repaired a fire boat tasked with breaking up the ice to aid in restoring ferry services as soon as it's safe to do so.
Repairs were made earlier today, with the fire vessel operating in the harbour breaking ice. Passenger vessel service is expected to be back online once the path is clear and it is safe to do so.
Residents who want to get to Toronto Islands can do so using bus service from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, according to Russell Baker, spokesperson for the city.
