Corus defence lawyers question former Q107 radio host on job performance at tribunal | CBC News
"Earlier this month, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal heard that Valentyne, who co-hosted Q Q107's Derringer in the Morning from 2017 to 2019, was bullied, yelled at and excluded from important conversations by her co-hosts. Valentyne claims the treatment was due to the fact that she is a woman, alleging male colleagues were not treated the same way. Valentyne also alleges Corus management knew about her co-hosts' conduct, failed to take action against it and instead pushed Valentyne out of her position as co-host."
"Corus Entertainment's lawyers addressed former Q107 radio show host Jennifer Valentyne's human rights complaint against the company for the first time during cross examination on Tuesday. The defence team suggested Valentyne's treatment was due to frustrations with her work performance rather than her gender. Cross-examination lasted all day and is expected to continue into Wednesday afternoon. Corus Entertainment's defence team suggested in their line of questioning the complainant was struggling to adapt to the radio show's workflow from decades of working in television."
Cross-examination in Jennifer Valentyne's Canadian Human Rights Tribunal complaint against Corus Entertainment continued, with the defence arguing performance issues rather than gender motivated treatment. Valentyne alleges she was bullied, yelled at and excluded by co-hosts while co-hosting Q107's Derringer in the Morning from 2017 to 2019. Valentyne alleges male colleagues were not treated the same and that Corus management knew of the conduct, failed to act and pushed her out of the co-host role. Defence questioned Valentyne on job history, hiring interviews, workplace adjustment and attempts to alert superiors. Valentyne disputed that she struggled, saying she was doing a good job.
