2 sought after man dies following shooting at Burlington, Ont., mall, Halton police say | CBC News
"Police are looking for two people after a man died following a shooting in the parking lot of a Burlington, Ont., shopping mall on Monday night. Police have identified the victim as Omer Niaz Muhammad, 24, of Burlington. Const. Jeff Dillon, a spokesperson for Halton Regional Police, said officers were notified about the shooting at Burlington Centre mall just after 10 p.m. ET."
"Speaking with reporters at the scene Tuesday morning, Dillon said emergency medical services attended to the victim. Unfortunately, upon transfer to hospital he was pronounced deceased, Dillion said. Suspects fled in SUV According to Dillon, Muhammad was shot in his upper body numerous times. He said the two suspects being sought by investigators had fled in a white SUV. Muhammad's death marks Burlington's first homicide this year, Dillon said."
Halton Regional Police were notified just after 10 p.m. ET about a shooting in the Burlington Centre mall parking lot. Emergency medical services attended the victim, who was transferred to hospital and pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Omer Niaz Muhammad of Burlington. Muhammad suffered numerous gunshot wounds to his upper body. Investigators are seeking two suspects who fled the scene in a white SUV. The incident represents Burlington's first homicide of the year. Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
