YouTube TV is planning to launch a cheaper 'skinny' sports bundle following its battle with Disney
"Our goal is to let you tailor your subscription with more options,"
"Whether you stick with our main YouTube TV plan with 100+ channels, focus on sports, combine sports and news, or select a plan centered on family or entertainment content, subscribers will be able to easily choose the plan that works best for them."
"ingesting the entirety of the sports programming"
"meet the consumer where they are"
YouTube TV will launch about 10 cheaper, genre-specific "YouTube TV Plans" in 2026, including a sports bundle providing access to ESPN Unlimited, FS1, and NBC Sports Network. Pricing for the new packages has not been announced, but each plan will be priced below the current $83 monthly rate. YouTube secured permission to offer skinny bundles after intense negotiations with Disney, Comcast's NBC, and Fox; negotiations with Disney prompted a 15-day blackout of ESPN and ABC. The service has worked to ingest the entirety of sports programming to serve as a one-stop shop for fans and aims to meet consumers on price. YouTube TV's base price has risen steadily since its 2017 launch at $35.
