Gilbert's statement in part also requested privacy, saying she intended to honor a request from Busfield's attorneys to not speak publicly while the legal process unfolds."
"Those remarks circulated as a judge presiding over an initial court appearance for Busfield on Wednesday had him held without bond until at least a hearing tentatively scheduled for 20 January. Prosecutors in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Busfield was charged, have asked that the Emmy winner be held in custody until his trial, though it is possible that he could be conditionally released on bond."
Timothy Busfield was ordered held without bond after being charged in Albuquerque with two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse. Police allege the accusations involve two 11-year-old twin brothers who collaborated with Busfield on the set of The Cleaning Lady and identified the boys by the initials SL and VL. Police obtained a warrant on Jan. 9 and Busfield turned himself in to be jailed. Prosecutors asked that he remain in custody until trial, with a hearing tentatively scheduled for Jan. 20. Busfield denied the allegations in a video statement. Melissa Gilbert expressed support and requested privacy.
