The Stranger Things 5 finale trailer is here and everyone's saying one thing
"On Tuesday (30 December) Netflix released a trailer narrated by Hopper who says: "I need you to fight one last time." As well as flashing back to previous seasons the trailer shows glimpses of the action set to unfurl in the two-hour plus finale. Among them are shots of who we think is Hopper with Vecna (worryingly) behind him, a screaming Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) as well as the Abyss, the world on the other side of the Upside Down, coming into view from the sky."
"It's all so thrilling, hyping us up without giving away too much and leaving plenty of room for surprises. And through all the speculation about who may die, the trailer has got everyone saying one thing: It's sad to be saying goodbye. Stranger Things first aired on Netflix in July 2016. And nine years and five seasons later, we're at the end."
""Thank you Stranger Things for a wonderful 10 year journey," wrote one fan account on YouTube. "I will miss you Stranger Things," wrote another viewer. Someone else put: "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS THE END," followed by a crying emoji. Another fan wrote: "I am not ready for this." Meanwhile, someone else typed: "You will be missed Stranger Things." On X/Twitter, people similarly shared their remorse at the imminent end of the series."
Netflix released a final Stranger Things season 5 trailer narrated by Hopper, who says, "I need you to fight one last time." The trailer flashes back to previous seasons and shows glimpses of action in the two-hour-plus finale, including a Hopper figure with Vecna behind him, a screaming Dustin, and the Abyss appearing in the sky. The finale premieres on New Year's Day (UK) and New Year's Eve (US) and centers on a last stand against Vecna and his forces as the Abyss threatens the world. Longtime fans have posted emotional farewell messages recalling the series' nine-year run since 2016.
